Relapse Prevention Skills

In Group Therapy, clients learn to understand the symptoms of addiction, the role denial plays in keeping them active in their addiction, the people, places and events that "trigger" them to relapse. More importantly, they learn to develop a "Relapse Prevention Plan" to put into effect when these events do occur.

Life Skills Development

Group Therapy

Clients receive an extensive education about the Disease of Addiction and how it affects  their body and mind, their family, their friends, and their future. The treatment program offers components that include:

Family Involvement

For Families, the opportunity to participate in family group occurs each Thursday evening. In this group session, a topic is presented that affects the entire family and is presented such that those present understand their role in the way a healthy and unhealthy family works. Suggestions and exercises are presented to help the family begin to improve the way it functions and to build toward healthier families and relationships.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy takes place on a regular basis. This experience provides the client with a trusting, meaningful relationship with their personal counselor and an opportunity to process issues not covered in the group setting. In addition, clients will complete Steps 1,2 and 3 with their counselor.

Dual Diagnosis

Many clients come to treatment with issues relating not only to addiction, but with other mental health diagnosis.  Among these may be Major Depressive Disorder, BiPolar I and II, Schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, ADD and other significant issues.

Our professional staff is clinically trained and experienced to assist these clients with both presentations.  We can assist with securing a workable medication management program and monitoring its' effectiveness throughout the course of treatment.
