Wylie Adult

Life Management Resources – Wylie, Texas

The Wylie Treatment Facility was opened in April of 2009.  The original purpose for this facility was to reach potential NorthStar patients who might have difficulty accessing treatment in Plano or McKinney.  While that is still important, the facility has grown to be so much more and now serves a vital and vibrant, and diverse population in Eastern Collin County.

Christi Nelson, AAS, LCDC, is the Facility Director and has been an integral part of the Life Management team for almost 6 years.  In Christi’s own words, Life Management Wylie is “helping to heal a community one person at a time.”

The Wylie facility is very unique in many ways –

  • Referrals are generally word of mouth, mostly coming from existing or graduated patients who found success in treatment and wanted their friends and family members to enjoy the same success they have had.
  • LMR Wylie is a safe place to talk, a place of acceptance and warmth, where sharing takes place every day and healing is commonplace.  We are totally confidential when it comes to our patient’s well-being.  This information is never shared with anyone.
  • Patients are very supportive of each other and lasting friendships are built here.
  • Each patient works with Christi to develop a treatment plan that is unique to their needs.  Together, as a team, we work to solve the problems of life.
  • Patients arrive early to visit, have coffee, put puzzles together, play games and fellowship.

Christi engages patients in many diverse and enjoyable therapies ranging from film to artistic exercises.  The community pet, Sasha the Boxer pup, attends group as well and brings unconditional love to all who come.

As patient Steve R. says, “There were things I didn’t know I needed to change until I actually changed them.  I’ve been using since I was 10 years old.  I thought I would always be a stoner.  Today I know different.”

It doesn’t matter what brings you to LMR Wylie…It’s what you take from it that makes the difference.
